WHALEN, Eliza Mildred [nee Martin] – Passed away suddenly but peacefully on March 4th, 2011, Eliza Mildred Whalen, age 87 years. Predeceased by husband William S. (2003). Left to mourn children: Sharon (Bruce Burry), Gloria (Len Churchill), Sylvia (Jim Bulger), Harold Martin (Barbara); grandchildren: Shannon Churchill (Melissa), Julie (Trevor Fiander), Becky (Irving Keating), Lesley Bulger (Shane Henley), Alan Martin; great-grandchildren Jack and Sam Fiander, Teagan Keating and soon to arrive brother or sister; sisters-in-law: Florence (Floss) Martin, Dorothy (Dot) Martin, and numerous special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, as well as a wide circle of friends through Wesley Church, L.O.B.A. and her bowling leagues. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Saturday, March 5th, 2011 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m., on Sunday, March 6th, 2011 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral service to be held at Wesley United Church on Monday, March 7th, 2011 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. WINSOR, Ivy Lorraine (nee Drodge) – (December 16, 1929 – January 16, 2011). Passed away surrounded by her loving family. Daughter of Capt. Eli and Ethel Drodge, Little Heart’s Ease. Predeceased by her husband Leslie J. Winsor (2001), sister Marcella Tucker and infant brother Wilfred Drodge. Leaving to celebrate her life with cherished memories are son Gary (Diane), daughter Joy (Ken) Noseworthy, grandchildren David, Stephen and Andrew Winsor and Allison Noseworthy, sister, Frances Bowering and a large circle of relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Monday, January 17, 2011 and Tuesday, January 18, 2011 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service to be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 19th, from St. James United Church, Elizabeth Avenue, with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ivy’s memory to the Community Food Sharing Association or the Mount Pleasant Cemetery Fund.
