Congratulations and best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Simon Stringer of Little Heart’s Ease who celebrated their golden wedding anniversary January 5. They were married at the United Church, Caplin Cove, in 1928 by Rev. Bragg. A party was given in their honor at their home where fifty-five guests attended. Among the guests were their two daughters, Dorothy and Gloria, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, their two brothers, Willis Stringer and Allan Whalen. Out of town guests were Mr. Ray Squires of St. John’s, Mr. and Mrs. John Martin, also of St. John’s. Other out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Willis Stringer, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Stringer, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Stringer and Mrs. Melita Carberry, all of Milton: Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Rodrique, Clarenville, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Willliams of Labrador City.
A delicious cold plate was served and enjoyed by all. Many thanks to Mr. Walter Williams and Mr. Hubert Stringer, Milton, who proposed a toast to the couple, after which the couple exchanged new wedding bands. They received many lovely gifts.
All their families and relatives wish Mr. and Mrs. Stringer many more years of happiness together.
