The Hodge’s Cove-Caplin Cove Lions Club held their third annual Christmas concert on December 15 at the Lion’s club in Hodge’s Cove.

The Leo Club also participated performing skits, songs and recitations.

During an intermission the Lion’s Club presented annual scholarships to students from Little Heart’s Ease. Eight scholarships of $100 were awarded to Melissa Grandy, Annette Stringer, Glen Spurrell, Monica Green, Ian Lambert, Keith Pynn, Lesley Spurrell, and Lori Drodge. A $500 scholarship was given to Duane Smith for receiving the top marks in grade 12.

The scholarships were donated by the Lion’s Club and businesses in the area.

The Lion’s Club is planning a Jannies Night on December 29 and everyone is welcome. Guests are required to come in costume and those who don’t will have to pay a forfeit of a fruit cake, candies, cookies, or anything else of that type to make the evening a success. Jannies will play games, play musical instruments and tell jokes and stories.

Would you let these people into your kitchen? They were two of the participants in the Lion's Club Christmas concert held at Hodge's Cove.
