Dear Editor: Please allow me space in your paper to print the following poem in memory of Murdock Baker who was killed on February 15th, 1966.

Though you’re no longer with us,
God has taken you away,
Your memory we will cherish
Until our dying day.

That day you had to leave us
And couldn’t say good-bye,
God took you oh so suddenly,
But we’re not to question why.

For God surely had His reason
For taking you away,
Just leaving us your memory
‘Til we meet again someday.

It’s hard for us to accept the fact
That you’re no longer here,
But we are often comforted
To know you’re in His care.

And God has only called you first
He’s coming for us too,
And when he calls, we too will come
Once more to be with you.

And then there will be no goodbyes,
But it won’t be like before
We’ll all be home where we belong
Together for evermore.

Grace Butler, Bonavista. (Ed. Note – Grace is stenographer with the Dept. of Health in Clarenville.)
