Indian Axe for Museum

Mrs. Roy Allen, 41 Torbay Road, St. John’s East, has recently donated the Stone Head of an Indian battle axe to the Newfoundland Museum. It was found on May 24 of this year [1962], by David Benson of Little Heart’s Ease, Trinity Bay, at Black Duck Cove, North West Arm, Trinity Bay, where it was embedded in soft soil on Black Duck Cliff. This axe head is a most interesting addition to the Museum’s collection of Indian weapons.

The Curator is grateful to Mrs. Allen and Mr. Benson for their generous gift and deeply appreciates the interest they are taking in the work of the Museum.
