FORTIER, Rexene – Passed away suddenly at her home on Monday, March 29, 2021, Rexene Fortier of Hodges Cove, aged 64 years. Predeceased by her husband Marc; parents Marcie & Harry Stringer. Left with fond and loving memories her son Justin (Lisa); grandson Nixon; sister Lexley (Kevin); brothers-in-law Luc and Pete (Marie); niece Laurie (Gerry), nephew Jason; her cousins in on the road; special friends Bonnie, Diane, Bobbi, Erica, Dorothy and Ray; and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville on Friday, April 2, 2021 by invitation only. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Fewer’s Memorial Chapel, Clarenville. Service will be by invitation only due to Covid-19 restrictions. Cremation will take place following the service.

JACOBS, Ethel Frances (nee Whalen) – Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, February 18, 2021, Ethel Frances Jacobs of Little Hearts Ease, aged 91 years. Predeceased by her husband Bill; daughters Gloria and Angela; brothers Bill Whalen (Rachel) and Hedley Whalen (Emma). Left with fond and loving memories her children Doug (Vivian), Paulette (Stan), Sandra (late Augie), Ulah (Gary), Irene (Harry) and Eddie (Bernice); grandchildren she raised Lisa (Brian) and Kimberly (Eric); 13 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; sisters Irene (Roy Critch) and Marcella (George Hillyard); brother Stan Whalen (Woodrow); and a large circle of family and friends. Private viewing will take place with burial at the United Cemetery, Little Hearts Ease by invitation only. Covid-19 restrictions will be in place. In her memory donations may be made to the Diabetes Society or Cancer Society.

STRINGER, Nehemiah (Sept. 14, 1922- Jan. 8, 2021) –  Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on January 8, 2021, aged 98 years, of Conception Bay South, formerly of Little Heart’s Ease. He went to join his beloved, Effie (Rideout) on what would have been their 74th wedding anniversary. Predeceased by brothers George and Marion, Levi & Alma and his sister Major Gladys Stringer. Left with fond and loving memories are many nieces, nephews, in particular, Patricia (Craig), Trudy (Mark), Sue, Lonz (Eleanor) and Steve (Lisa) and many other relatives and friends. Heartful thanks are extended to the staff of Canning’s who took such excellent care of him for the past few years. A private visitation and funeral service is planned. VEY, Everett Kenneth – Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G.B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Friday, March 26, 2021 Everett Kenneth Vey of Hillview, aged 84 years. Predeceased by his parents Mildred and Kenneth Vey; sisters Margaret McNiven, Beulah Legg, Lovetta Hastings; brothers Clyde, Herbert, Lester. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Norma of 61 years; children Dale (Pauline), Blaine (Lucille), Kent (Christine), Una; grandchildren Jamie Vey, Brandon Vey, Ashlee Vey, Krista Vey, Britnee Vey, Danielle Oakey (Josh), John Vey (Crystal), Emily Vey (Rye); great grandchildren Dallas and Alivia Vey (their mom Vanessa), Reid Oakey, Liv Oakey, Shane Vey; sisters Dolores Turner, Marilyn Vey (John Clarke); brothers Chester (Jessie), Hughie Vey (Barbara); brothers in law Jack Tucker, Silas Tucker (Patricia); sisters in law Cynthia Hogan (Tom), Mary Bentley, Janet Tucker and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. WHALEN, Rex – Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G.B Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on Thursday, March 11, 2021 Rex Whalen of Caplin Cove, aged 70 years. Predeceased by his parents Allan & Elizabeth Whalen; brothers Lawrence, Eldon (Polly), Walter; sisters Minnie Squires (Allan), Melvie Drodge (Roy); brothers in law Ron Barrett and Gerald Barrett. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Brenda of 23 years; children Kerry Whalen (Jim Vail), Sarah Montague (Ed), Meghan Harnett, Wanda Pardy, Roger Pardy; grandchildren Madison, Rebecca, Ryah, Donnelly, Zoe, Tyler, Melody; siblings Maxwell (Marilyn), Ivy Barrett, Eva Barrett, Evelyn Avery (Aiden Nugent); sisters in law Bernice and Annie; special nephew Jim Whalen (Lillian) and a large circle of family and friends. In keeping with his wishes cremation will take place with a private cemetery service.
