Georgina completed her nursing schooling in 1967 and quickly started working as a public health nurse in Clarenville. Over her more than thirty years of service in the district, she became well-known and was affectionately recognized even after retirement, often greeted with, “Are you Nurse Barry? You gave me my needles!” She was a highly skilled and compassionate nurse, dedicated to assisting those in need. Georgina, a passionate reader, cherished her Book Club deeply. The highlight of her month was their gatherings, where she reveled in the discussions, embraced and challenged diverse perspectives, and enjoyed the wine. Georgina loved to travel, but her heart belonged to the cabin she shared with Jack on Terra Nova Lake. Riding the quad and having a boil-up was a cherished activity, with a toasted baloney sandwich being the highlight! The cabin was a place of happiness for friends and family, filled with delicious food, drinks, dancing, and card games. Volunteering held significant value for Georgina; she dedicated her time to the Crest bus organization, supported the SPCA, and participated in the poppy sales each November. Stephanie was cherished deeply by Georgina, who held an unwavering love for her. Everywhere they journeyed together, people often commented on their striking resemblance. Their bond was unbreakable, best friends through and through, and it’s this profound love that will help Stephanie in the coming days. Georgina had a deep love for flowers, and they will be gratefully accepted. Alternatively, for those who prefer, a donation to the Clarenville SPCA would also be appreciated, reflecting her love for animals. (Reprinted from Fewer’s Funeral Home website)
