Further progress was made in the construction of a road from Queen’s Cove towards Southport, a distance of 19 miles. Work was resumed in the vicinity of Hodge’s Cove – the point to which it had progressed by the close down of operations last fall and a further 5 miles were constructed in this season. The road is now motorable from the junction with the Cabot Highway to Heart’s Ease – 16 miles – leaving approximately 3 miles to be done next year to complete the road to Southport.
