The Regimental Recruiting Roster
A CALL TO ARMS.

O where is he the simple fool
Who says that wars are over?
What bloody portent flashes there
Across the Straits of Dover?
Nine hundred thousand slaves in arms
May seek to bring us under;
But England lives, and still will live
For we’ll crush the despot yonder.
Are we ready, Britons all,
To answer foes with thunder?
ARM, ARM, ARM!

O shame on selfish patronage—
It is the Country’s ruin—
Come, put the right man in his place,
And up now, and be doing!
O gather, gallant volunteers
In every town and village,
For there are tigers—fiends not men—
May violate, burn, and pillage!
Are you ready, Britons all,
To answer foes with thunder?
ARM, ARM, ARM!

To fight the Battle of the World,
Of progress and humanity,
In spite of his eight million lies
And twisted Christianity!
ARE WE READY, BRITONS ALL,
TO ANSWER FOES WITH THUNDER?
ARM, ARM, ARM!

As the Recruiting Roster below will show, there was a magnificent response from the outports yesterday.
But it was not representative; nearly all are from Bonavista and Port au Port districts.

What of the hundreds of settlements and hamlets how have not answered the call of our Boys over there? Are they going to wait for the Conscription Proclamation?

ARE YOU A SOLDIER IN THIS HOUR OF YOUR COUNTRY’S NEED?
ARE YOU A VOLUNTEER?

The “Rescue Bunch” of the glorious Royal Newfoundland Regiment is waiting for you, waiting to start for France, waiting to do their splendid duty and win immortal glory.

DON’T KEEP THEM WAITING! ENLIST NOW!!
