Dr. Lloyd asked leave to present a petition from the inhabitants of the South West Arm of Trinity Bay on the subject of [telegraphic] communication with Northern Bight. As the inhabitants were largely interested in Labrador they were desirous of having fuller facilities for extending their business.
Mr. Miller supported the petition.
The petition was received and ordered to be referred to the Department of the Colonial Secretary.
