SOUTHWEST ARM, N.L. — A very moving Remembrance Day service was held at St. Andrew’s United Church, Hodge’s Cove on Monday, Nov. 11.

Rev, Brian Hannon officiated the ceremony, assisted by Rev. Myrna Vey and Geraldine Fifield.

At 11 a.m. about 120 congregants gathered at the Cenotaph.

Following the playing of the Last Post and The Rouse, 38 people laid wreaths in memory of family members who had served in the armed forces.

Air Force veteran Florence Green represented the Silver Cross Mother.

After the ceremony everyone was invited to a luncheon at the Lions Club where a military display was set up by The Southwest Arm Historical Society.
