Remembrance Day Ceremony

This year the annual Remembrance Day Service will be held at the site of the new War Memorial, Hodge’s Cove (next door to the Lions Club) on Thursday, November 11. The ceremony will begin at 10:30 am.

Due to inclement weather for that day, the service may have to be held indoors at the Lions Club. Please be advised that anyone entering the Lions Club must show proof of having received Covid 19 double vaccinations through an electronic VaxPass or a paper copy, accompanied by a valid ID. Masks are mandatory inside the building.

Because of Provincial regulations governing Covid 19 restrictions only 150 people can be accommodated inside the building at one time. Of these numbers, priority will be given to invited members of the following groups: Veterans, Rangers, Coast Guard, Clergy, Firefighters/Firettes, Lions Club, Historical Society Committee, Volunteers/Helpers and those laying wreaths.

Once these groups have been accommodated, priority will be given to those who have travelled from outside the area for this occasion, until we reach 150. It is possible that there may not be any more than 150 in attendance and everyone may be accommodated at once.

Otherwise, all others are encouraged to drop by the Lions Club from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. to view the various displays.

If the service does end up being held outside, the procedure for entering the Lions Club after the ceremony will be the same as outlined above.

Due to Covid 19 regulations and/or impending inclement weather, we apologize if this causes an inconvenience to your plans for this occasion.
