Where Once They Sailed

November 11, 2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the end of the Great War. To mark this special occasion the Southwest Arm Historical Society have had a special project to highlight the service of 87 men from the area who enlisted and served in the Royal Naval Reserve from 1914-1919.

Lester Green has written and published articles on these men – with a few more to come. You can view the completed articles under Military, WW1 Records and Photo

As part of this project, we will be publishing and selling a 180-page commemorative booklet and miniature banners. These items will be available on November 11 but to obtain a copy you must pre-order by October 6th.

The commemorative booklet contains two pages per sailor. The left-hand page features a copy of the banner and the right-hand page contains several images of the sailor. The cover is in colour, the 180 pages are black and white, and the size is 8.5″ X 11″. The cost is $15.00 each. (see picture below of sample pages). If we have to post the booklet there is additional charge for postage – within Canada an additional $6.45 and to the US an additional $12.92.

The miniature banners (as seen on the left-hand side of the picture) are in colour and are 8″ X 14″ in size. The cost of the banners are $5.00 each.

To pre-order these items please contact Wanda Garrett at info@swahsociety.com
