Let’s Celebrate the Jacobs Family

(Written by Lester Green and performed by Helen Green (Smith) in 2006 at Little Heart’s Ease for Jacob’s Reunion)

He was a young man from Little Harbour
Married his sweetheart and moved to the Lane
Hannah was her name,
From Butter Cove she came.
He built a shanty on his brother’s land

Yes. That’s why we’re having this reunion.
Gathering in the Lane and having fun.
Talking about yesterday and remembering those before us.
That’s why we’re having this reunion

So let’s praise David and Alice,
You raise up your glasses with me.
Come and join our reunion,
Let’s celebrate the Jacob’s family.

His third born son, his name was David.
Married Alice over on the point.
David and Alice put their roots down real strong.
Six children whose roots they spread along.

They raised six children in the Lane.
Toss, Bill and Ollie were the first that came.
Followed by Raymond and Dinie,
And the youngest was Renie.

So let’s praise David and Alice.
You raise up your glasses with me.
Come and join our reunion.
Let’s celebrate the Jacob’s family.

Come and join our reunion.
Let’s celebrate the Jacob’s family.
Let’s celebrate the Jacob’s family tree.
