Post Mortem Held

Reprinted from the Evening Telegram
January 30, 1925

Post mortem examination of the body of John Sheppard which was brought to town yesterday from St. Jones’ Within was made during the afternoon by Dr. T. Anderson. The body has been sent home for interment. The uncle of the lad, Albert Benson, is held on remand charged with manslaughter pending further investigation. Whether the charge will remain as at present or be increased to a capital charge of murder depends on that view the Crown will take of the doctor’s report and statements which the prisoner is said to have made.
