Page 58 – In Memoriam
In fond and loving memory of a dear son and brother, Cecil Melvin Critch, killed in a car accident September 10, 1965 at the age of 22 years.
We little knew when we woke that morn,
The sorrow the day would bring
For the call was sudden, the shock severe,
To part with one we loved so dear.
We did not stand beside you
To see your life depart
But when we heard that you were gone,
It nearly broke our hearts.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day you left our home.
You meant so very much to us
Nothing we can say
Can tell the grief that’s in our hearts
As we think of you today.
If we had all the world to give,
We would give it, yes and more,
To hear your voice to see your smile
And greet you at the door.
Gone from us his loving face
And his pleasant cheerful ways
A heart that won so many friends
In bygone happy days.
Dear son you are not forgotten,
Though on earth you are no more,
Still in memory you are with us
As you always were before.
Always remembered and sadly missed, by his mother and father, sisters Flora, Melvina, Christine; and brothers Walter and Larry.
