Will Hunt Seals

The Lady Macdonald, recently completed sister ship of the Linda May, is to sail to the seal fishery this spring under the house flag of Bowring Brothers Limited, who also will send the Ice Hunter and the steamship Eagle.

The Lady Macdonald has recently finished outfitting in St. John’s! Equipped with the latest steering gear, and powered by a 240 h.p. Fairbanks Morse engine, the 200 ton motor ship is to be commanded by Captain Ralph Smith, with Captain Gus Carter of Greenspond second in command, and will carry a crew of 30. She has capacity for 10 to 12 thousand seal pelts.
