Mackerel Numerous at Queen’s Cove

(From our correspondent) — Great schools of mackerel have struck in and in spite of a poor Labrador Fishery and the Shore Fishery on this part of the Coast it is expected that around fifty or sixty thousand dollars will go into the pockets of our people and will prove a great boon to them. If it were not for this valuable fish coming to our shores, many of our people would be seeking Goverment relief. Many of our people who succeeded in securing a quantity of fish on the Labrador Coasl: are now in St. John’s disposing of their catch.
