- Congratulations to a grand old lady Mrs. Eliza Miller of Queen’s Cove, whose 91st birthday came on November 11th and for this happy occasion a get together party was held at the home of her daughter Bertha (Mrs. Arthur Churchill) of Hillview. Present to show their appreciation to a mother who did so much for them, were her six daughters and one son John, her son Chesley being away. It was her first reunion with all her daughters together since they were children at home. All down through the years until quite recently this dear old lady has been very active and had great pleasure in knitting and sewing. Through all the changing scenes of her 91 years of life this event was one of her happiest moment when at this age she could sit at the table with all her daughters and son. It is the wish of all her children, her relatives and many friends of Queen’s Cove and Hillview, that God will abundantly bless and strengthen her for her unforeseeable future however long her days may be.

Page 57 – In Memoriam
In fond and loving memory of a dear husband and father, Frederick Nathan Martin, killed in a car accident November 6th, 1965, age 29 years.
This month comes with great regret
It brings back a day we shall never forget.
You fell asleep without good-bye.
But our memory shall never die.
We did not stand beside you
To see your life depart;
But when we heard that you were gone,
It nearly broke our hearts.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone;
For part of us went with you
The day you left our home.
Surrounded by friends I am lonesome,
In the midst of joy I am blue,
With a smile on my face, I’ve a heartache,
Longing dear husband and father for you.
We often think of bygone days
When we were all together,
The family chain is broken now
But memories will live forever.
Lovingly remembered by wife Lucy and family.
Page 58 – In Memoriam.
In loving memory of my dear sister and aunt Mrs. Claribel Dodge who was accidently killed December 4th, 1965.
Deep in our hearts lies a picture,
Of a sister laid to rest –
In memory’s frame we shall keep it,
Because she was one of the best.
Days of sadness still come o’er us,
Tears in silence often flow
For memory keeps you ever near us,
Though you died one year ago.
Ever remembered by brother Baxter King and family, Little Heart’s Ease.

In Memoriam
Martin – In fond and loving memory of a dear brother Nathan Martin who was accidently killed in a car accident on November 6th, 1965.
We little knew when we woke that morn
The sorrow that day would bring;
For the call was sudden –
The shock severe –
To part with one we loved so dear.
Friends may think I have forgotten
When at times they see me smile,
But they little know the heartache
My smile hides all the while.
I think of him in silence
No one can see me weep;
But many a silent tear is shed,
When others are asleep.
Always remembered by sister Lena (Mrs. Arthur Goobie, Queen’s Cove).
