Remembrance Day Ceremony
The Southwest Arm Historical Society is hosting a special ceremony to honour the 26 men from this area who served with the Royal Newfoundland Regiment during World War 1. During the ceremony, we will unveil 15 banner displays that illustrate and recognize the service that these men performed during the war. Also on display will be photos and military records of these honourable men.
The ceremony will take place at 11:00 am on the morning of Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Southwest Arm Academy, Little Heart’s Ease. The service is open to the general public and among the special guests will be representatives of soldier’s families.
Annual General Meeting
The annual general meeting of the Southwest Arm Historical Society will be held at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at the 50 Plus Club in Hillview.
During this meeting, Lester Green will do a presentation on the 15 banners honouring the 26 soldiers from this area who served with the Royal Newfoundland Regiment during World War 1.
